We just returned from our first trip to Desire resort in San Jose Del Cabo, Mexico. We learned about the resort, which has only been open since late last year, from some of Mary’s fans. For those of you who don’t like to read reviews I’ll sum it up….we loved it and will be going back soon. Now that we’ve got that out of the way here’s some more detail.
We got to the airport 2 hours early, as recommended. We were checked in, thru security, ate breakfast and at the gate with an hour to spare. The plane, a direct flight on Alaska, was 15 minutes EARLY getting into SJD. 30 minutes later we were thru customs and immigration. We chose to take a taxi to the resort and that was $50.00 USD. The return taxi ride was only $25.00. We got to the resort right at check in time of 3:00 PM and got checked right in. The resort is right in San Jose Del Cabo but they do a very good job of screening the resort from walk in traffic. There’s a fairly nice beach but you can’t swim in the Ocean and you must wear swimwear when on the beach as it is public.
The resort is newly remodeled and the rooms and grounds are very nice. There’s a nice pool with plenty of shade for those who need it, like Mary. The resort was about 1/3 full when we were there and we had no problem getting a nice spot by the pool. If the resort was full I’m not sure if there would be enough space for everybody.
There is a huge hot tub, more like a small swimming pool, on top of the spa/gym with a swim up bar and several couches and covered cabana beds. If you want to watch other people have sex you have a pretty good opportunity to do so at the hot tub, especially after dark. If that offends you I’d avoid the hot tub as there was nearly always something going on, when we were up there.
There are 3 restaurants on the grounds and they also have 24/7 room service. We ate at 2 of the restaurants but never used room service. The food was excellent as was the service. There are 3 bars and one of those is also open 24/7. They have a good liquor selection and pour fairly stiff drinks, unlike some other all inclusive resorts. If you like wine you may want to bring your own as the selection looked pretty slim.
The resort is clothing optional with the exception of the restaurants where they want you to be dressed. That said, you could wear very little and the staff never said anything. As you can see from the pics Mary wore fairly revealing outfits and the staff and other guests seemed to enjoy them. Around the pool you saw everything from total nudity to 1 piece suits. Most women were at least topless, after the first day, an most men were nude. There were lots of very skimpy bikinis and exotic swimwear. The age group seemed to be a bit younger than Grand Lido Braco. The resort has a “strict” no photos or videos in public area policy. Most people had cameras and took pics. You just need to be respectful of other people’s privacy and there were no problems. They also a policy that forbids reserving lounge chairs…this was ignored by everyone.
They have a Disco that opens at 10:00 with different theme every night. The dance floor is VERY small but does have two poles. We went to the disco on the lingerie theme night at around 10:30 and there was nobody there. Mary danced a few songs and played with the pole and did a strip tease. The staff and DJ loved it. When we left at 11:00 there were about 5 couples there.
I am a voyeur so I like to sit by the pool and watch the nekkid women. I also enjoy having Mary dress up very slutty for dinner. She wore outfits here that she would not wear at Braco for fear of offending somebody from the prude side. All in all this resort will replace Grand Lido Braco for us. We loved Braco but HATED the trip getting there. Desire is MUCH closer and has similar amenities. There is also world class fishing just down the road in Cabo. On our next trip Mary wants to catch a Marlin. Stay tuned.
